Mesquite Day 2-109*

Today definitely didn't feel as hot as yesterday maybe I am already getting used to the heat.
Just some updates on the kids,
Alivia is 7 going on 17.
On the drive down here we put on seat down in the back of the Suburban, and so she got to sit in the back all by her self. She had her own head phones on, her own snacks, her own games and books while her 3 brothers were in the middle seat watching "boy" movies.
She also wants to wear sunglasses, and a visor, and lip gloss....
she is the biggest "fish" in our family, Kessler is a strong second...
Cooper loves to swim but mostly running and jumping into the water over and over again.
Bauer loves to swim sometimes, but mostly sit by his Mom, or have his Mom push him around on the raft.
Ben burned his shoulders, surprised? you shouldn't be, he fell asleep by the pool yesterday and sat in the shade all day today.
My family ended up getting some rooms down here the same time as us.
My Mom and my two sisters are over in the hotel part of the resort.
So all the cousins were able to go swim in the pool tonight together is was comical, one cousin decided to jump in without a life jacket and so one sister was in the pool in her clothes saving her little "geeno".
Kessler also decided to go in once with out his life jacket and his dad saved him.
Pictures are not going to come for a while the internet access here is SUPER slow, so uploading the pics onto blogger is too time consuming.

day one-110

We rolled in last night around 11:30pm to Mesquite, Nevada and it was still 104 degrees. The air was thick with hot.
We found our place which is nice it is away from the casino so the kids don't have to parade through there.
Today's temp 110 pippin hotness.
We swam in the pool for 5 hours, had lunch swam for another 2 hours went to the store and took a trip to Lake Mead.
We loaded the machines into the water and cruised around a bit, it is so amazing to see how low the water is.
Also amazing to see all the quaga (sp?) mussels attached to them selves to the side of the rocks.
Kessler and I were the only ones to jump in and swim in the 90 degree water.
Also a side note Kessler said to me the other day "no bueno" I say that a lot and died when I heard him say that.
back to mesquite....no one has been burned yet, we have been sprayin on the 30spf -50spf.
Sorry no pics yet ....too hot to get the Camera out in the sun....

Happy Fireworks Day!!

Fun times here, for the 4th but really celebrated on the 5th. Although these little fireworks don't compare with the big one's done by the city, or other cities.

I have been working a lot the last few days, so I now have a 2 week stretch off. Ben has been working crazy long days 12 hours plus.
Luckily ~ now that he writes the schedule he can take time off when they have enough people.
We are taking a little trip down to Nevada, why you ask? why would we go from hot Utah to EVEN hotter Nevada.
The Whidden's need to use up some time from their time share that was going to expire and the only place available was Nevada.....
hopefully I will come back with a great tan, not a great burn.

Small Obsession

Our little family (by Utah standards that is) has had a small obsession with Toy Story. I remember seeing the first Toy Story right after I graduated from high school and loved it.

Our kids have fallen in love with it too.

We love our movie theater over in SoJo (South Jordan) called The District. We made sure we went and saw the very first one at 10:20 in the morning.
We bought our tickets a few days before to make sure we got the right seats.

Happy Dad Day!

A shout out to a great dad!! Ben.

Some of you don't know him very well because of his personality~quiet, reserved, un-bubbly...

The great things you may not know because that are not outwardly apparent.

He will do anything for you. (except if it has do with spending money)

He is very smart.

He loves his kids (too much sometimes, let's them do things sometimes Mommy won't let them do)

He works really hard at home and at work. (the only organized parts of my house are a direct result of Ben)
He still doens't think he can burn.

He is flexible to let me do what I want, a trip to San Diego, the nights that I work, the mornings I come in. A night at Chili's with my girls, Girls Camp and all the help I will need.

He is very cool about stuff like that with advance notice.

Ben there is a lot to thank you for, but know we love you and appreciate you much!!

San Diego Weddin'

I was able to travel to San Diego for a wedding on the 15th. My long time friend got married in the San Diego Temple.

It was amazing! the Temple is beautiful, the only problem is the Temple was under construction because of some rain fall. So there was scaffolding everywhere.

The sealer was amazing and as always says amazing things.

I was able to go by my self so on Monday we went to lunch, shopping for jewelery, mani and pedi's, out to dinner and a fun night of practicing hair do's and makeup.

Tuesday morning a nice work out with no interruptions. A beautiful ceremony, and a amazing place to take pics!!

Also so nice to fly all by my self (sung like the song) flights were good there, on the way back another story, cancelled, oversold flights, running from the Delta terminal to the United terminal, my stars were aligned though, made it on the two flights I luckily came across.

However on the way home inflight there was a medical emergency that forced a diversion. I am telling you SkyWest flight attendants ROCK, they rocked it!!

I was glad to be there to help them, they had no medical personnel on board, and this cute man was in trouble.

Other side notes, camp is coming up quickly and I find my self taking big deep breaths of the piling responsibilities.

We decided on our Camp theme C.R.O.C.S

Courageous, Righteous, Obedient, Christlike, Sisters.

We are trying to buy CROC shoes, and come up with some uplifting experiences.

Can't wait.
